STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™

Swkotor.ini file doesn't exist (MAC OS X)
every cheat guide/mod seem to hinge upon finding this file so why the ♥♥♥♥ doesn't it exist then ?

idk if its different for PC/windows users but on mac anyway no such file exists, so how to i open console commands then ?

The link below is about save files, but it may point you in the right direction.

https://support.aspyr.com/hc/en-us/articles/204974524-Star-Wars-Knights-of-the-Old-Republic-Mac-Missing-Save-files

You can also try right clicking the game in your Steam library, then "Manage" and "Browse Local Files". On a PC that will open the right folder, where the ini file should be.

There's also older posts such as:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/929951-star-wars-knights-of-the-old-republic/58273592
still no soloution, every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forum i look on its the same , its impossible to mod or even find the game files anymore because steam basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it

♥♥♥♥♥

I think maybe you have to start up the game, enter the game, at least create a character and maybe even play for a split second and then the game creates the .ini file at that point.

It's in your game folder, where the application is and most or all of the game files are.
Steam > Steamapps > Common > SWkotor

Inside this swkotor folder you will find a file called swkotor
It looks like a Notepad document but with a little gear on icon, denoting it is a configuration file. Depending on your Folder View settings within Windows, Windows will describe this file type as Configuration Settings. Maybe change folder view of game folder to "Detailed" so it will jump out at your more easily.

These are where your settings are stored and when people talk about modifying the .ini file or the config file, this is the file they are talking about.

Right-click on it, select Open With Notepad, then carefully do whatever changes or additions the instructions you're trying to follow say you should make.

This IS the file you are looking for. Good luck.

I think I read you have to launch the game once, get to at least character creation, or possibly first ingame save, and then the .ini file gets created.

Also when you view your game's file folder, make sure you're trying to view All files, any hidden files etc.

It's in there.

like i said iv already done all that stuff, i play it often it has plenty of saves, and still no such file exists

Have you tried praying to the spirit of Steve Jobs? Perhaps his wisdom holds the logic for why this file that's easy to find for Windows users is so difficult to find on a Mac.

Windows User: Hey, did you hear about that new vulnerability/exploit/virus ?

Mac User: Yeah, but it seems focused on Windows PCs. I have a Mac. So I'm fine. That's a Windows problem. I'm invincible!

Windows User: I just upgraded my video card, hard drive to M.2 SSD, and added a new sound card with upgradeable OP-AMPs! Bet you can't do that with a Mac because it's all soldered in.

Mac User: True, but I don't have to muck around with that stuff because my Mac was so overbuilt at release it doesn't need upgrading.

Windows User: Hey everyone, I found a solution to this driver-related issue/mod conflict/script error/ whatever. Here's the solution! Have fun!

Windows User #2: Thanks!
Windows User #3: Thanks!
Windows User #4: Great! Thanks!
Windows User #5: Perfect. Much appreciated.

Mac User: Haaaaalp ! I tried all those solutions but none of them work. Does anyone know how to implement this fix on a Mac?

Windows User: *crickets*
