If you are running a high res monitor or a 120/144Hz one the game simply won't handle that. You may have to play around with the resolution setting in the menu or if it won't even start then in the .ini file. The game won't deal with high refresh rates so you may have to run your system as a lower rate - approximately half, so 60/72Hz. There is a widescreen hack but it can be a bit erratic whether it works or not.
Go to C:\ProgamFiles\Steam\Steamapps\Common\swkotor \ . Go to a configuration file called swkotor. Look under [Graphics Options] and there will be a line that says fullscreen=1 . Change that to fullscreen=0 , then also add a line under [Graphics Options] (the same section you just changed fullscreen in) that says AllowWindowedMode=1 . Hope this helps! If it still doesn't work, change your compatibility too.
