STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™

STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™

No audio
I have been playing this game for a few days, working fine. Today I played a few hour, closed the game, then later I open it again to play some more and the game gives no audio.

Anyone before has ran with the same problem? So far I have been unable to fix it.

Well, now it's working.

I did all of this things the previous days: Verify files done, restart game done, restart computer done, app volume and device preferences done, manage sound devices and disable all output devices except the one you want to use done, disconnect all headphones done, edit the ini file. None of it seemed to work.

Today I just turned on my pc and before I started the game I thought about disabling all my other output devices thing that I did before the other day but with the difference that the game had already been open it and closed it before in that pc up time session.

FYI: Game crashed and no audio again.

nothing you do in this garbage game can fix it

it literally removes sound even over read only checkbox

so, just keep restarting until it works?
that won't help usually

open ini check the audio init(ialized)=1
try to make it one
(also make sure it is not disabled (=1) not different output and not any of the other generic solutions)

if didn't help then delete the whole init line

if the game still forces it back to 0 then delete exe file and verify integrity. that will nuke your ini file too so lose all settings

if it didn't work try deleting the line then making it 1 then deleting the exe file and verifying

repeat the motions until full satisfaction. just nuking the ini file is not that useful if the same exe file decided to rewrite it every time

Any idea how many times I'd have to do this? I've tried like 30 times and every .exe file overwrites the ini to audio init=0. Not sure what else to do since it ran on my PC like a month and a half ago when I last played.
until full satisfaction

this terrible game is entirely broken

Could it be setting the sample rate too high? I’ve heard this causes issues with swtor and sound. I’m at work so I don’t know what it’s set at, but it’s at whatever the highest sample rate on windows is.
