EDIT: SOLVED: For anyone else coming across this in the future, you game likely failed to play the cutscene once you open the final door. Reload to a previous point in the ruins and it should work. In my case, i reloaded to before i solved the 2 terminal puzzles and unlocked the final door.
This game can have a multitude of problems on modern machines. Just wondering if you read any optimization guides.
The simplest one I'd recommend is this:

I'd add to that list, going to your graphics card settings, like Nvidia Control Panel, find Kotor app and limit fps to 60.
In Steam Swkotor properties, click browse local files, which opens up the game folder. Find the .exe file call Swkotor, right click on it select properties. In the Properties window, select Compatibility tab, enable compatibility and select WindowsXP SP2
Also, you can install the community patch, although, i don't think this one has any crash related fixes, which makes it optional.
lmao thanks for that, i might have tried that but i was so worried a mod had completely messed something up and was dreading re-installing everything
