You can turn off movies however with the swconfig thing in the steamapps folder.
Assuming you are playing with a keyboard and mouse you move the turret left and right with the A and D keys and then make fine adjustments with the mouse.
The trick is to be ready immediately the sequence starts. Slew the turret a little to the left and start firing rapidly. You should get at least one enemy that way, two if you are lucky and very rarely three. Then watch the little radar screen to target an incoming fighter coming from opposite the nearby star (as the light makes them harder to spot coming from the star side). As they get close just lay down fire ahead of them and they will fly into it. They can't take much damage and are easily destroyed that way. Rinse and repeat until they are all done. If you try chasing them all over the sky you will not get them fast enough and will be destroyed, let them come to you.
Good luck.
I usually play on hard and it is always 6, on every fight.
It's not even hard.
Short game? High price? KotOR? Now that's insanely hilarious. Also, other half will kill you only if you'll turn on Deadeye Duncan.
