How Hard is darth Malak?
Im level 20 even though that really means level 10 soldier and level 10 jedi consular. I read that Jedi consulars are pretty hard to win with.

Also what is best jedi class?

Of course everything depends on your playstyle, but, generally speaking, guardian is probably the easiest Jedi class to beat the game with due to how THAC0 and attack progression works.

Now, Malak isn't particularly difficult, but... if you've never played a AD&D based game before, it might be a little difficult for you to win with a primary spellcaster class simply because you may not realize how dice rolls work (if you do, then you'll be fine).

Any Jedi class is pretty easy to win against Malak on the Star Forge on the normal difficulty. In fact, you'll find that the journey to the the final room on the Star Forge is actually a lot more difficult than fighting the final boss. I found him easier than a couple Dark Jedi to beat. I personally think Consular is the best class, in both KOTORs. Force powers are a lot better than single attacks.

Here's what you do. When the fight starts, use Master Force Speed, this will give you 2 or 3 times the damage per hit, and use Force Immunity, you will be immune to his force attacks. Then pump yourself up with every type of hyper-stim you have, especially battle stims and strength stims. Your character portrait should be filled with blue arrows. After a certain point he will tell you about all the Jedi carcasses around him in suspension fields making him invincible. Force Speed around and destroy all of these with whatever force attack you want, then attack him and he'll be weak as balls and won't be able to refill his health. Battle shouldn't take more than a minute, as doing this should allow you to kill him in around 6 or 7 strikes.

Soldier/Consular is arguably the strongest character you can make, albeit lvl distribution Soldier 5/Consular 15 is THE ideal split (says person who has beaten both KOTOR's on Hardest difficulty, multiple times).

Fully maxed out LS Soldier/Consular has about 50% chance to incapacitate Malak with Stasis or Force Wave, which no other character can even dream of.

CHEESY TACTICS: One way to cheese Malak is to invest some points in Demolition and bring some high-grade mines with you. Start mining the entrance ramp, fight with Malak until he babbles about the jedi bodies, destroy the suspension field tanks and lead Malak back on entrance ramp -> Malak gets blown to bits before he even gets to swing at you.

If you're light on force points (not likely given you are a Consular) you'll want to limit your force buffs. Malak has Force Breach (one power and all your force based buffs are gone) and he will use it if you buff yourself more than once. I usually go with Immunity, mostly because I go with low force point duelists more often than Consular types.
