KOTOR: Game Minimizes during every cinematic

So i already fought with the windowed mode issue, which was fixed after installing Strobelight. But now every time i play the game and a cinematic plays the game seems to minimize itself to the desktop, then it becomes a battle in itself to try to reenter the game while the movie is playing. sometimes it will hop right back in, other times it will take 30 seconds to get back in and try to watch. The most recent time the game just wouldn't allow me back in until the movie was over. Has anyone had this issue? if so how did you rectify it??

PS; I'm on a laptop without the ability to use a monitor unfortunately.

This was never solved, although it shouldn't minimize itself every single time. My guess is that the game minimizes itself and opens up another window with the video (this was common during the 2000s), and sometimes the game just doesn't come back. I've played a 35-hour playthrough, and that (minimizing and not returning to the game) happened at least 10 times.

The "normal" situation is for the game to close for less than a second, you see the desktop and then in returns to normal.

I think there might actually a fix for this someone told me about on these forums I think... but I don't remember what is involved with it.

Hey guys, just wanted to give an updated but i was able to fix the issues. Basically i had to go into the games properties on the desktop, change the compatibility settings to windows XP (service pack 3) and in the same window i also checked (run application as Admin). the game seemed to run the movies without any minimization occuring. ill try to find the discussion that helped me solve it and i will post it here for everyone.
