Kotor Mods
[edit update 8/13/14]

I obtain all my mods for the first Kotor game from the following website:

http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/files/Knights_of_the_Old_Republic;67index

KSE(Kotor Save game editor technically not a mod but a tool for Kotor) http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/;68852 ~Highly Recommended

(Mods can also be obtained from Deadlystream, Moddb, and Nexus, as well as the lucasforums. Some mods especially older ones seem to only be available on lucasforums and nowhere else but this site also contains many missing, expired, or broken links and these mods can only be now obtained from the modd author's website many of which are no longer maintained.)

Mod List: Google search for these following mods,

Bastilla on Korriban

Romancing of Bastilla (includes bastilla on korriban and more)

Carth Romance Fix

Bastilla Romance Fix

Bastilla and Revan the Untold Love Story~ Allows for a relationship with bastilla as a female PC and opens up dialogue options for flirting previously only available for male PCs

All Jedi Party mod~ Turns your entire party into jedi other than the droid party members. This can be done with the kotor tool you can give party members access to new feats including proficiency with lightsabers plus add a class or change their class, you can do this for your character as well.

Big Bad Sound Mod~ I use this for grenade sounds, and close combat melee sword sounds, and the saber clash and hit sounds.

Ultimate Sound Mod for Kotor I~ I use this for the rest of my saber sounds and blaster sounds and improved sounds for some force powers.

Realistic Visual effects~ Eliminates the fluff visual effects from force powers and the glow coming off your weapon for a power attack for example.

Animated Galaxy Map~ Upscales the resolution of the galaxy map and animates it, works for KOTOR II as well I believe.

Kotor II Style Rebalance for Kotor

Carth's fighting spirit ~ carth gains an invisible feat mirroring atton's unique feat to rise from incapcitation during combat.

Lightsaber choices ~ You can choose 2 sabers or a double saber adding choices when its time to create a lightsaber at the Dantooine academy

Recruitment Mods ~

Redemption of Yuthura Ban(no voice overs)

Recruitable kay (this is a 4 step advanced recruitment mod fully voiced and sadly still contains some serious bugs in my experience.)

Enhanced Merchants ~ Merchants will carry more useful items and more powerful items and larger quantities of items.

Multi Kill/Multiplague force powers.~ Adds 2 new single tier high level dark side powers that allow you to afflict multiple targets with Kill or plague. This is a fun mod but its incredibly overpowered especially if your a sentinel or consular with a high wisdom or wearing overpowered gear because you will always land the attacks and your enemies will always be all poisoned or being choked stunned and taking damage.

However there are parts of the game ahem the star forge where there are boring slogs of many enemies and many of us have played the game so much we dont care about challenging ourselves anymore or use mods to make the game much harder than it can be by default anyway.

I use many more mods not listed here but most are for very minor changes (reskins/retextures) and fair warning the more mods you use the higher chance of them conflicting.

Note on 2da files: Without knowing how to edit 2da files on your own, many mods even if if they use a patcher for compatability and ease of use will overwrite or conflict with other mods that use the same in question files.

(to edit on your own or create your own mods you will need the Kotor Modding Tool plus the first microsoft netframework download.)

the culprit for me is almost always 2da files such as apperance and spells2da or baseitems2da's

I did not link the links for every single mod listed because that is tedious and its just so easy to google search for the mods on your own or look through the directories on filefront for them.

is there a kotor restore content mod for kotor 1?
Scorch 3 AGO 2014 a las 5:12 a. m.
@lamuerte There is but very little has been cut from the orginal game, I'll give you the link to the restoration mod:

http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/1358-downloadkotor-1-restoration-demo-beta/

I have not tried it yet, but the idea of adding Iriaz back in for Dantooine sounds good, along with the various extra NPC's.

@Maul, have you happened to stumble across Redhawkes mods at all? Such as Redhawkes Jawa shop, etc? Also, is there any chance you know how to make mods compatible? Since you and I love to mod our games to the brink, such as Four Force Powers and Kill Plague Multi.

not without knowing how to edit 2da files with the kotor tool or making your own TSL patchers for mods that dont use one, sorry :( the kotor tool looks intimidating to me I wish more mods got uploads that use patchers instead of raw files packed into the override folder manually.

For example and he claims this isnt a problem Shem's ultimate sound mod is awseome but it uses spells2da and baseitems 2da and you will be asked to overwrite because there wil be multiple of the same 2da file in the folder, ive never tried to just overwrite and see what happens assuming it would cause problems but he says its compatible with other mods that use the same files like turn t3 m4 into a workbench, he usually uploads his mods in the tsl format by stoffe and surprisingly no one ever uploaded mods like that again using the patcher it would be really convenient.

Ive yet to use T3M4 as a workbench because it conflicts with any other mod that uses baseitems2da and on playthroughs where i use the ultimate sound mod i have to sacrfice not using a bunch of mods like No force armor restriction because they conflict.

I just know you should install mods first that dont use the patcher and then the pather mods will edit the necassary files correctly afterwards.

Back in the past I tried to edit merge 2da's using a merger but the mods didn't work, and I find the TSL patchers to be utterly usless, as I find they change the files of existing mods if they conflict with them.

yes sometimes this is the case, i try to avoid mods that do the same thing like using 2 mods that overhaul an Npcs appearance I once tried t use ajuhani overhaul and bastilla sith eyes and what happened was bastilla had sith eyes during the in game cutscene but otherwise did not and Juhani's mod worked 100% not the worst result, but both used tsl patchers and you can tell they conflicted.

The kotor tool looks intimidating me to try and learn how to make my own mods or edit 2da files. Id love to be able to combine all 55 mods I have on my hdd for the game and make them all work together.

Yeah, that KOTOR tool looks like hell to use, I'm just suprised someone hasn't uploaded merged files of different mods yet, and yeag, I would love to make them all compatible.

Well Maul, if you happen to stumble across any other mods you didn't existed please give me its link here, for KOTOR 1 & 2 and if you find anything which helps make mods compatible or something, please let me know! :)
BotZero 5 AGO 2014 a las 2:47 a. m.
there was once a kotor mod manager that at least made it easier to turn off and turn on mods it was helpful for determining which mods were conflicting with each other but it was on the nexus website known for Elder scrolls mods if u havent seen it and so anyway the KMM link is broken it now says cinematic lighting effects and you encounter an error upon download im going to try and track down an alternate source for it later.

it wasnt that good anyway though because it didnt detect every mod especially mods that have module files, unless the modder created a KMM file with the mod which i have only encountered a couple that do it wont detect it.

All the link you have posted up here are redirecting to pages which no more hosts the mods.
Where I can find them again?

If you're talking to me, then the hosting website is called Filefront, it has all the mods listed above, for KOTOR 1 & 2, it just takes a but of searching to find the mods, on the left hand side are the links to the different catagories of mods so it'ss be eaiser to find what you're looking for! It also contains cheat codes for the game as well, like add credits etc.

http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/

If the link fail again, just type into your search browser "KOTOR filefront" and click the first link, that should be it.
