A recent update?

The game got a recent update right now (about 500 KB) ???? This puzzles me. An update? now? Anyone knows what is it about?

if it's only 500kb then it is most likely a Steam related update for the game not an update to the actual game itself. i get these tiny updates every week for different games and sometimes i get them every day for the same game

You aren't crazy, OP. I had a download for KOTOR & KOTOR2 on Feb 12. No patch notes. I haven't even touched either game in a year, so I find it unlikely that a game file in both games got corrupted.

Yeah that's just a steam thing. The game files weren't changed.

Another tiny update came today (from this week, I presume). I know Steam does these things often, but isn't it a little strange? I don't get this from other games in my library.

They are either disclaimer updates or things that change a line of code in the game to work on new devices or software, but no bugfixes or content restoration sadly since this game badly needs some fixes to some annoying crashes, most notably the 'Levianthan escape' crash.

This has to do with Steamworks Optimization, it just configs the game with the latest steam "in-app" "shift+tab" menu. which updates basically everyday with fixes and improvements, dont see them but i think they are there.

I don't want or need this crap. I DO need it to stop wasting space every time I want to launch MY game. There are ZERO needs for updates on a game this old.....

If this garbage keeps up, I will get a disc drive and play my disc versions.

The download of the steamworks, just replaces some files in steam and games that are launched, the total size of these updates are about 1/15 of the size needed to install steam, and all the updates just update the current security of steam.
