Did I screw up by being a female

So I usually play female characters in other rpgs so I choose it this time and I kinda regret it. I did some research and you can romance carth as a girl but hes kinda annoying (I am not far into game so could change) and bastila is cold as hell so I feel like I am gonna kind of ruin my first experience playing the game since I am not a guy. I know this sounds dumb but a big thing to me in rpgs is developing relationships w your homies over time.

There's a mod that let you romance Bastilla when you play female but you would probably have to start over. Also you can romance Juhani without any mods.

Romance wasn't as big of a thing in KOTOR as it was in later BioWare games.

The one where your character's gender really matters is KOTOR II, as that determines whether you get the Disciple or Handmaiden.

Bastila warms up later but is always the "It's not like I like you or anything..." type. She's the unsure one who takes a lot of convincing. Carth eventually starts being more jovial and openly flirts with the PC once he gets over his dead wife's memory.

The Game only gives you Two romance Option (one is the same). Bastilla only works with a male Char but it depends on what you expect, because the romance Thing can be really important later (Light side or Dark side are highly important too). i would recommand a second playthrought because in the first run you will usally miss things and can be more efficient in your time. Kotor 2 is a bit better but still the same in terms of importants ( even a bit less).
