Need Tips For Massive Credit Gain
Is there a way to get a lot more credits without resorting to cheats? I'm hoping to get both crystals that you get at Yavin.

early on, you can gradually make a fair amount of money playing pazaak. On Taris, you can play 28+ matches with Gelrood before he will quit playing. Just save before each hand, and reload if you lose. That's pretty much the only way to win, since you're at a disadvantage every hand since you have to go first.

Here's a good guide on how to maximize that card game for money. https://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox/556553-star-wars-knights-of-the-old-republic/faqs/27359

Yeah, don't cheat just to get credits. For myself, whenever I use cheats or console commands it ruins the game experience for me because I know I didn't earn whatever items or money it was I wanted.

I owned SWKOTOR on Xbox 13 years ago, and loved it so much I just bought it again on Steam. I wouldn't wanna ruin the fond memories...

Build a decent pazaak side deck (an even spread all of +/- cards) and beat the Rodian at Yavin 10 times. Save and reload losses so you at least break even. You aren't trying to make money off him, just get him to give you a discount on his stuff.

Win the swoop races on Manaan and Tatooine. Sell the race bonds from Tatooine at Yavin, he pays best price.

Dump the routine stuff you find on the nearest merchant but sell the good items you don't need (lightsabers, crystals, mandalorian armour, unique items) at Yavin, again he pays top price.

If you do these things enough you should be easily able to raise the credits you need.

Thanks! Will try this! :D

As for Pazaak....well, I always lose. I guess I need more/better side decks? :P

I use two 1's, three 2's, three 3's and whatever 4's or 5's I can get, all +/- cards. That takes a bit of tracking down but it is worth it for the tough opponents.

As for the game it is usually better to draw until you are over 20 and use a minus card to get back under. Use side deck cards only to draw or win a game. If the opponent is really tough it can come down to using your side deck to force them to use theirs and then it is down to luck of the draw once the side cards are gone.

As you are always forced to go first, a disadvantage, I have no hesitation in saving and reloading to even things out. I don't use it to win every game, just enough to get a more reasonable result.

Not massive but you can sell the stuff your partners give to you at the Ebon Hawk and then combe back for more:

Zaalbar gives Adhesive, Concussion and Ion grenades until you have 11 total;
T3-M3 up to 11 Computer Spikes;
Jolee give Life Support Packs until your total medpacks are 11 (store the inferior ones in a container then come back when/if you need them);
Canderous gives Adrenal Strength, Alacrity and Stamina stimulants, again up to 11 total;
Mission gives Security Spike Tunnelers, up to 11

pazaak and racing is how you make the serious credit piles. I hate pazaak so by not playing it I miss out on so many credits there are still strong items in the game from vendors i pass on.
I've bene playing Pazaak against Gelrood for a long time. When will he say "I don't wanna play anymore"? I looked around & it's saying that you can play against him as long as you want & anytime you want.

**Spoiler alert**

You can play pazaak against the low value players forever. You won't make much money and it gets tiresome pretty quickly. I don't bother playing pazaak against anyone on Taris. The players to take on are:

The twilek in the guest wing of the jedi enclave on Dantooine (buy cards off him first).

The rodian on the landing stage at Kashyyk.

The guy in the cantina on Dantooine.

The rodian merchant at Yavin (not to get credits but win 10 times to get a discount).

They are the ones where there are serious credits to be made. All will only play until they have lost a certain number of times.

I don't like the K1R restored content mod but it adds a pazaak tournament which has a big prize fund - so big it actually unbalances the game.

Make sure to loot everything, don't bother too much with buying equipment, you will find everything you need, use upgradable equipment, ignore anything that isn't upgradable that you don't get for free. I've always ended this game with an absolutely massive surplus of credits and nothing to ever spend them on. From what I have seen it would take phenominally bad luck at pazaak or swoop racing or just out right rushing through every area as quickly as possible and buying an amazing amount of junk to wind up without the credits needed to purchase the two crystals at Yavin.

It takes some fast reflexes, but I ended up with 20K+ credits just from the racing bonds on Tatooine, and whenever you see a swoop racing place, the wisest thing to do is to get your butt in there and start racing. I visited Yavin afterwards, and I had enough to buy the Enviromental Bastion armor and upgrade it fully. Racing is where the big money is at.

Environmental Bastion armor? Not sure I've heard of it.

It's one of the unique suits you can buy from the rodian at Yavin. Once upgraded it gives a good armour factor plus protection from a lot of other stuff, including mind affecting attacks and heat, cold, etc. A good choice for a soldier/guardian.

The other good suit available from Yavin is the heavy power armour (can't remember the actual name but it is the one that boosts strength), actually a medium armour. Has one of the highest armour factors in the game as well as increasing strength. I usually play scout/guardian and use this armour in combination with the implant (also from Yavin) that protects against poison and mind affecting.

I was told Cassus Fett's armor was "the best". I guess I was wrong. :O

I'm guessing Cassus Fett's armor is the best heavy armor, because the Enviro Bastion armor is medium, as with the aforementioned heavy power armor.
