I use Flawless Widescreen as well, and I also get corrupted saves, but I don't blame Flawless Widescreen for it. Even if it IS the cause, it's worth it, to be able to play KOTOR at 1920 x1080 res.
So just do what I've do. SAVE often.. NOT just a quick save, although KEEP doing quick saves of course. But also ESC - Save Game.. OFTEN.
Also remember you have an Auto Save, that saves everytime you go to a new Area. THAT has saved me numerous times, from forgetting to follow my own advice above , where my quick save was corrupted and my last Esc - Save was way back. So that Auto Save was a savior.
I would love to know what mod or patch your referring too.

I have twp question about the process laid out in the "the UNIWS way" video that you linked above.
1) At one point you have to download a different SWKOTOR.exe file (the executible for the game). Does anyone know what was changed in the exe file?
It's a smaller file then the original EXE file I replaced.
This was all in prep for then patching the game with UNIWS after.
So I'm curious why the exe of the game needed to be replaced.
This sortof thing always makes me a bit nervous.
2) Also is it just my imagination, or was the Flawless Widescreen way, slightly crisper in the 1080p graphics, over this UNIWS way?
It might be my imagination. Maybe it's Vsync. Because I had it off with Flawless Widescreen. But I don't know, again it might just be my imagination. Just seems less crisp ie: Slightly blurrier , such as with text, then with "Flawless Widescreen" .
Curious of your thoughts.
Thanks.
This is what you've been blessed in skipping.

It's the final patch version from the CD release of the game. It's smaller because it doesn't have the Steam code embedded in it. That Steam code difference also prevents UniWS from correctly patching the .exe to use the resolution you want, so it MUST be done on the cracked CD version.
After, i tried again Flawless Widescreen but he didn't ad 1920x1080 in the list
It's boring...
You need to get a HUD patch. Go read the WSGF (Wide Screen Gaming Forums) article on KotOR here:
https://www.wsgf.org/article/star-wars-knights-old-republic
About half way down the page is a section labeled "HUD Correction" containing links to HUD files for various resolutions. After applying UniWS, grab the one that best suits the resolution you're playing at and dump it's contents into the game's \override folder.
UniWS just overwrites a constant in the executable to change how the game does resolution mapping. It's not capable of doing anything else since it's meant to be fairly universal for a wide range of games. Anything that wasn't scalable for such by the developers has to be handled by the user (such as HUDs).
Ok ok, thx you, i'll test that
