Game crashes after space battle

The game will often crash whenever it has to switch to pre-rendered cutscenes, like using the lift to the Shadowlands on Kashyyyk, entering/exiting space battles, and so on. But usually I just boot it up again and it works. But now the space battle that takes place after you escape the Leviathan (which is after finding 3 of the 4 star maps) I beat the fighters and it crashes. I've tried it like 6 times now, waited a day, and it still won't work. I tried skipping the cutscene as soon as it starts, but it just shows a loading bar for the next area and crashes when it finishes loading. This has me thinking that it's the scene two scenes after the space battle that is giving me trouble, crashing while it loads during the first cutscene.

I played the game to completion on this same computer and that point didn't give me trouble, so I don't know what the issue is. Also, I have the save file editor mod so if there's a way I can just bump my character forward a few steps that way to avoid it entirely please let me know. I looked up mods that can remove space battles, but they only work on the random ones that happen when you try to fly different places and this is a story required space battle. Also, as I mentioned, it seems to be the cutscenes after, not the battle itself.

TL;DR what's the safest way to use the save file editor to skip past the space battle you're forced into after Bastila stays behind to fight Malak while you escape after the Revan reveal so I don't mess my game up but can get around the point the game seems to be crashing?

Someone posted the answer to another thread and I found it. Instead of save file editor, you can just take all the gear off of the player and Carth and the cutscene will load properly. Maybe it was just one piece of gear causing an issue, or maybe I only needed to unequip Carth, but to be safe, just fully unequip both if you get this problem.

This works, I don't know why, but I read this discussion, stripped Carth to the nudes, and then we loaded no problem. A thought as to why, during the cutscene of you and carth running to the ship, while wearing armor carth does not follow, but naked he runs with you. No idea why this is but it works. Thank you.

I forget, do you gain control of your characters after fighting Malak and before boarding the Ebon Hawk? Or does this mean you have to fight Malak bare-handed?

I had my game saved on controlling Carth and going into the hangar as Carth caused only the main character to run to the ship. Switching to main character before entering the hangar resolved this issue for me.

I also worked to me. before entering into the space battle change to the main character. Take out all the objects of both Karth and main character. I have no idea why, but now after the space battle the game will proceed working fine.

Im crashing after boss fight with Malak and the cut scene with little yoda thing at the forge battle scene keeps crashing.
