KoToR no resolution options/windowed
If your KoToR starts up windowed and you can't change resolutions you may have the same problems I faced.
I tried Flawless widescreen and uniws but both did not work.

However, I managed to make it play full screen in the following way:
  1. Start and close the game one time
  2. Go to the install folder of kotor (properties => Local files => browse folder)
  3. Open swconfig(.exe) make a change (enable/disable v-sync) apply and close.
  4. Edit swkotor.ini: Go to the graphics part and change RefreshRate, Width and Height to that of your monitor a max of 1280 by 768 respectively.

I hope this helps a few of you to enjoy this amazing classic from the golden age of bioware.
Let me know if it works :steamhappy: !

ahh~ But it just cannot work, I tried many ways and times. Which way are you run the game?:steamfacepalm:
And actually, Flawless widescreen and uniws only supports the v1.03 retail disc or no-CD versions of KotOR.

What specifically do you want to know about "which way I run the game"?

I changed the V-sync option, and I changed the resolution to 1920 x 1080 and it still remained a tiny box.

I had the same issue. I would plug my laptop into a monitor and it would go full screen. My Laptop has a refresh rate of 144. This caused me the issue. I went to the Swotor.ini file and changed RefreshRate=60 to RefreshRate=144 and it fixed my issue. I no longer need an external monitor to play full screen, I spent hours looking for a solution and found this one.

It really worked along OctopodesLeeche's comment! Even in Windows 11, thank you so much! This issue was driving me crazy

It did all the things until the part to change the ini. It doesn't show Height, width OR refresh rate?
A way to change the screen frequency helped

You can type it in yourself under the graphics part of the .ini file:

Width=
Hight=
RefreshRate=

followed by whatever you need there, typed with no space after the '='
you can find your monitor's refresh rate by typing 'advanced monitor settings' in your windows search bar
