Regardless, I got strong KOTOR/Jade Empire vibes from those games as I played.
The Gothic games are also pretty good though they play fairly differently to KOTOR. There's also ELEX which is made by the same devs which came out a couple years ago and is basically a more modern Gothic (though with a different setting), it is a bit janky though.
Mass Effect 1 is very similar to KotoR.
Dragon Age is very similar.
Any game made by Spiders is similar to KotoR, not necessarily in combat mechanics but questing and other gameplay. Usually each game progresses through one area at a time where you do quests and meet new companions, just like KotoR. So to list Spiders games:
- Of Orcs and Men
- Mars: War Logs
- Bound by Flame
- Technomancer
- Greedfall
Just keep in mind all Spiders games are very janky except Of Orcs and Men (because it was co-developed by another studio). They are diamonds in the rough. So unless you really, really love this style of RPG, then don't play them. Basically they are budget titles. On release many of them were like $30 new or somethingDivinity: Original Sin 1 & 2, Elder Scrolls 3 4 & 5, Fallout 1 2 & New Vegas, Wasteland 1 & 2, Vampire: the Masquerade, Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2 and Deus Ex
This is a great list. Adding on that:
- Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition (almost forgotten gem)
- Gothic 1 & 2 (awesome milestone for open world RPGs but only if you can get used to the janky controls/combat, also check available Mods)
another advice: check Steam & GOG for best prices (or if you prefer DRM-free downloads)
I would suggest you try the latter if you want a sci fi rpg adventure to try again.
But if you really want to continue exploring the KOTOR universe then you would need to subscribe to the Old Republic MMO which is still going on strong today after debuting in 2011.
