STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™

Need help making the game 1920x1080
I have tried every HD fix I know just to get this game to run in a decent resolution and nothing has worked, flawless widescreen only gives you all the resolutions 1/3 times but even then it renders the game too small to see, UniWS won't let me patch the game at all either, and if I try to edit swkotor.ini, it just defaults the settings, I desperately need help.

If it defaults the changes to ini then you must have cloud saves on yes?
Flawless widescreen worked ok for me but caused several crashes when i was in menus.

So are you saying that cloud saves may be the problem?
Also, any resolution changes give the screen a horrendous offset

Kotor 1 has no cloud saves even though it still says so on the store page. :/

I went with Flawless Widescreen even though the font and icons were very small on such high resolutions, as you said.

After following this video I was able to play the game in 1920 x 1080.

I tried all of it and it severely offsets the screen

Sometimes it just doesn't work, period

Offset like it displays a small window in the top left of the screen with black covering the rest of the screen? If that describes it, I had that also. I fixed that by selecting 1920 X 1080 in the menu screen. Options > Graphics > Screen Resolution if I remember right. The opton should be there if UniWS was able to patch the exe properly. Can you check please? Not sure why this video didn't mention changing it there. He suggests changing it in the ini but that did nothing for me but cause it to display weird.
There isn't any black anywhere, the menu is just put down to the bottom right, I'm not sure that it's even trying to scale the screen correctly, it also does this with every in-game res other than 800x600

I reread your first post, you said uniWS wouldn't let you patch the game? You didn't skip grabbing the "fixed" exe did you? UniWS can't patch steams exe for this game. I'm just asking because that step makes people nervous, for good reason usually, and they sometimes try UniWS without it. I've already gotten ahead of myself if you weren't able to get UniWS to patch the game.
I got the patched .exe, so ignore the first post, but my main problem is that the game doesn't scale the screen down for higher resolutions.

Dont bother dude. 800x600 is the way to play this game. Menus are just the right size and theres even a kind of "authentic" feel to it. I tried for so long trying to get the game in hd and the hud resized but I gave up and I'm completely used to 800x600 now. It didn't even take long to get used to tbh. It doesn't look bad at all, it's not like running a modern game at 800x600.
I realise that the resolution actually doesn't really look bad, but the fact that you can make it look better bugs me because I can't seem to get it right, I've just given up at this point though.
