No Love For T3-M4
So everything I've read people are like oh T3 is bad and dies too soon, did people not bother to gear him up, I got him rocking a shield disruptor and flame thrower and he's an amazing team mate when you set him to run the utility script. Like for real he's disrupting shields and setting people on fire left and right, it's amazing lol

T3 has several negative points. He has no backstory so he never establishes himself as a character. From a tactical point of view you usually want a party with two melee fighters and one ranged. As a ranged fighter HK-47 offers more and both Carth and Canderous can do both melee or ranged as required. So unless you need his skills he is rarely the best choice for your team after you leave Taris.

Be cautious about letting the computer choose when he uses droid weapons. They only have limited charges and it will tend to use them up quite quickly. At which point you discover the enemy you should have saved them for. (There are versions of these weapons that don't run out
available later but by then T3 would not be my first choice as a party member).

He can be killed relatively easily but that is, in my opinion, down to people letting him make his own choices in combat. Pause often and give him a queue of orders and there should be no real problem.

I find him useful for the Sith base and Davik's Estate sections but, particularly as I usually start as a scout, the few occasions after Taris where you need his high skills are in safe territory where he does not need to fight.

Unfortunately he was not really developed as a character in the second game. A pity as he could have been much more in that one.

Yeah now that I'm 19 hours in and have HK I'm probably never going back to T3, I also find myself personally being very tempted by the dark side but still maintaining morality and HK really meshes with my personality now. This is actually my first time playing the KOTOR franchise, I've had them in my library for years I just never got around to playing them and I've been in the mood for classic Bioware but I recently went through Mass Effect for the millionth time so I figured it was time to finally play this franchise that I've heard is really amazing for a Star Wars game.

Both Kotor and Kotor 2 are outstanding amongst Star Wars games. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the eventual follow up, the MMORPG The Old Republic. What I really like is that they do not present the choice of light side or dark side as an either/or all in choice. The second game in particular makes a decent attempt at moral complexity.

When you get to Kotor 2 I would strongly recommend that you install the TSLRCM (restored content mod) as the original version of the game is riddled with bugs and issues. The mod pretty much fixes all of these and makes the game much more playable. If you are running the full Steam version of the game it can be installed from the Steam workshop easily.

I planned on it, I heard there was a lot of content that just didn't make it into the original release and these came out before story adding DLC was mainstream so the cut content just never got added.

True. But unless you play through Kotor 2 at least a couple of times using TSLRCM you can't access all the little clues to this.
If there wasnt the door in sith base on Taris that can be open only by t3m4 with trigger, t3m4 will haven't part on plot.

He's got a lot of utility in that he can unlock and hack any door/container/computer in the game. Of course, your player character can do that too, not like there's a shortage of skill points.

Combat wise, he's not special. Everyone else that can use blasters is a better ranged fighter and HK-47 is a better droid fighter. You're right about the droid tools being very handy and fun to use though. You're not gonna be gimped using T3. He's not worthless, just not the best or even "average". If you like him, then use him! You won't suffer for it
