How do you defeat the rakghouls?

I played this game years ago and got stuck once I got to the Undercity. Now the same thing is happening again. How do you defeat the Rakghouls?

Equip everyone with ranged weapons. move cautiously and get within range of the first rakghoul in the group and open fire. Just before the leading rakghoul closes in pause and switch your main character to melee and attack the rakghoul.

If anyone gets poisoned walk back to the healer in the village, avoiding any rakghouls. Heal up and resume where you left off.

I just took Toughness as my first feat to get lots of vitality points (I play soldier class) and I used Vibrosword and Power attacks. Those are very useful because they give you a damage bonus, but reduce your chance of hitting the attack. Since the rakghouls have poor defense, you should be able to hit those Power attacks and defeat them easily. :DD

cerberusiv, thank you for your help. I have now made it farther into the game than I have ever been before.

A quick way to heal up is to transport to hideout/ship then transport back. This only works in areas that allow you to transport back and you can only transport back if you don't leave that loaded area. For example don't leave the apartment block or enter your apartment.

In some areas I seem to recall this can respawn enemies. At least I think it does and that is why I don't do it in the rakghoul areas.

Won't happen in Undercity. I only recall this happening on Tatoiine (Desert Wraiths) only if you leave the planet and come back later.
Not that it matters, it's easy to hit the level cap anyways.
