Game won't launch

I downloaded this game a few days ago, played it fine for a couple of hours. Came back the next day to play it, but when I hit play, it brings up a white screen, then just closes every time. I tried reinstalling, verifying the game files, I've run it in admin mode. Please help!

Ich hatte das gleiche Problem nach dem Wechsel des Monitors. Alter Monitor konnte 1920x1200, neuer Moitor kann nur 1920x1080. Im Spiel war 1920x1200 eingestellt.
Abhilfe:
in Settings.ini Eintrag "resolution=1920x1080" eingestellt.
Pfad bei Win7 64-Bit:: "C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\LucasArts\The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition"
xxx steht für Username

I have the exact same problem. The game worked until recently but now when I try to play it the screen flashes white then goes back to my desktop. I get no error message or anything. The second one works fine though.

I have the same problem. Just played a couple of month ago. And now I want to continue with the game and nothing is working. I've tried Win XP and Win 7. Same problem on both machines. On XP: Launcher.exe failed to open... On Win7: Failed to initialize renderer... I've tried the issue with the settings.ini which can be found on the internet, but it doesn't work anyway... I hope you guys know a solution...

The Game launches as a white screen with black boxes, I tried the settings.ini and it changed nothing.

I just set it to like 800x600 in the ini file and it worked for me

The same happends to me, I own an AMD apu with hybridcrossfire but I tried disabling crossfire and using dedicated, it didn't work... this sucks.

Habe auch das Problem ich starte das Spiel und dann kommt nur ein schwarzer Bildschirm mein Betriebssystem is Windows Ultimate 64 bit edition kann mir da einer helfen ?

Hab das gleiche Problem wie Dutch. Es startet ich sehe noch das LucasArts Logo und dann kommt die MUsik aber ich sehe kein Menu. Ich höre aber die Geräusche der Buttons.

It's crashing immediately for me as well. I'm on Windows 10.

2015 and this still has not been fixed? That suggestion fix link above was from 2009.

On a laptop running windows 8.1 (not tried it on my windows 10 desktop) I got it running by right clicking the MISE icon in the local files and selecting "Run with graphics processor > integrated graphics"

changing the resolution in .ini file only makes the size of the white window smaller, but it still crashes, lol
