Why no Curse of Monkey Island, or Escape from Monkey Island?
Seriously, we need to have the complete Monkey Island Collection.

By which I mean I. :v

The funny thing is the game I have the hardest time running now is Escape from Monkey Island because it won't run on my Windows 7 computer. Yet I can play the first two with this new version or on scummvm and can play the third the same way.

I wouldn't mind a complete collection. Heck, they might as well bundle Tales of Monkey Island while they are at it. I understand the complications that would entail, but I enjoyed all 5 games and would find it convenient. They really do need to add these two games, even if it is seperate so we have easy access to all the games.

Why? What's so dumb about having the whole Monkey Island collection?

Yeah, you're right. I want to play Monkey Island 3 on Steam. It's almost impossible to play it on the new windows

Download scummvm. You won't have any problems, even if you own a new computer with windows 7. I even can play the game on my phone.

I agree, scummvm is a solution for new computers, however I would also prefer to have all of them available on steam :)

Which is pretty much irrelevant unless they add cards and achievements, no?
LeChuk's has cheevos, I think I saw, while the first one's remake does not.
r was it the other way around? Regardless, point stands. Having them on Steam may be nice, but it has no practical use.

Get Scumm, edit a shortcut and add it as Non-Steam game to the library.
And there you go.

At least, that's what I do with games I don't have on Steam (or I have no need to rebuy them on Steam, if they are availale, because there is nothing added to them).

You may have to edit shortcuts or create a .bat or something so it then shows "In Non-Steam Game: Escape from Monkey Island", but it's easily possible in most cases.
(Not 100% sure about scumm and if you can do one-click launch of a certain game)

well MI3 doesn't need any remake as it is a great graphical game... however if they create a "steam version" I think they could add some extra stuff that I would pay for it. For example it woud be nice if they add "comments" of the creators like they do on MI1 and MI2 remakes... maybe adding some art work... maybe adding the music soundtrank... and why not, some steam achivements would be funny too.... :D

I mean, its not only the having the game on the steam cloud... :P

Didn't say it wouldn't be nice to have. Just that, without any kind of real addition, I don't see the point ;)

But granted, achievements and trading cards, not to mention the emotes that come along with that (which would be sick!) would indeed make me think about re-buyiung them for Steam, no question.

Though now that I think about it, Achievements are pretty much useless, too, when you think about these types of games.
I took a look at the cheevos of this game, and yeah, except for the "speedrun" achievement (if I understand that one correctly), all the achievements are basicakly handed to you for reaching points in the game.

Still, your point is well recieved.
+1 for Trading Cards and junk.

scummvm is the ♥♥♥♥ for old adventure games. You can run many classics, even on a smartphone. Right now I am playing discworld 1 on my Nexus 5. Pity they don't release that game.

As a Terry Pratchett fan, I can't help but recommend all three adventure games, even though Discworld "Noir" is kind of untypical.

I loved those even though my localization back then was godawful.
How's the original english? If it's passable, I might look for a way to reaquire them (legally, I mean of course)

Just curious, did you try using the Quick and Fix 64-bit installer? I run EMI without problems.

And (soon I hope), ResidualVM may be finished some day to run it without problems.

Sorry, won't run was the wrong term. What I meant was it is a lot of hassle to run MI4 and the others are a breeze on Windows 7 and up. I have used that to run the game. My computer has some issues with the cutscenes, but it does well enough. Just thought it was ironic that the older games run smoother than this newer one. Thanks for the tip, I'm sure someone out there just now found a way to run their old EMI game.

Any news on ResidualVM for EMI? I know they now have a version out and a patch for the EMI game, but I also read that they don't quite support it yet. I don't have my CD with me currently, so I can't test it. If it works, it will be much better than that Quick and Fix. That has not run very smoothly for me in the past.

If anyone has info on this please let us all know.
