Anyway, is this going yo be fixed?
Unfortunately, this likely means Nvidia and AMD can't fix this via drivers and we'll have to wait for LucasArts (or Disney or whoever supports these games now) to fix both these games to work with the WDDM 2.1 drivers, but I doubt that will ever happen. :(
So I guess we'll have to use old WDDM 2.0 drivers if we want to play these wonderful games, which is far from ideal to say the least.
To roll back I used Windows Device manager. Find your display adapter, go into properties and there should be a 'Roll Back Driver' button under teh drivers tab.
Actually the game works with driver disabled. I just try and it finally starts.
I have Windows 10 x64, AMD 280 OC with Crimson 16.9.1 driver. I tried everything but Dogs Orbs's solutioned my problem.
I think it's because of what people posted below, about WDDM.
I tried it very reluctantly, thinking that I would restart in safe mode and reset it if everything went to hell, but Windows 10 seemed ok with it (albeit, the GPU fans are not so silent anymore with the driver disabled).
But Secret of the Monkey Island: Special Edition and Monkey Island 2: Special Edition now both launch, so this could be a quicker workaround than reverting to old drivers.
Windows 10 x64 (version 1607) HD7950, Crimson 16.9.1 driver.
The problem is with the latest nvidia drivers, so obviously rolling back or using other drivers (I don't think you are not using graphic drivers, I think you are not using your dedicated or you are using generic drivers) can make the game work. But the real solution would be to have a fix for the actual nvidia drivers and the upcoming ones. Or to advertise on the game that it won't work with actual drivers anymore.
Unfortunately I can't even open it to leave bad feedback on the game and I got it as a gift. But at this point I would consider asking for a refund de to lack of support y the developer.
W10 x64 anniversary update.
