Which do you prefer?

Replaying it, I'm finding that the HD graphics kind of lose their charm, and only in a few areas does it actually improve the atmosphere. I also find that they kind of altered the art style, as the closeups on faces in the original Monkey Island were made to look like illustrations out of a Treasure Island book, but they come off more as Warner Bros. Saturday Morning Cartoon in the HD version.

You put it aptly and succinctly. Stylistically, I only like the giant moon behind the board walk at the start. The walk animation is out of sync with Guybrush's movement, and his hair is so ugly that someone made a hair patch[www.facebook.com].

As someone who didn't grow up playing the original, I can pretty much state without any nostalgia that the pixelated graphics look far more appealing than the weird cartoony style they decided to go with for the HD version.

I too prefer the original art style, those remastered feel too cartoony and, to me, it seems that they even lack of details.

I grew up playing the new version but now that I replayed it years later I do prefer the original style. Especially the close-ups are amazing.

The style on Guybrush is pretty bad on this one. He doesn't look like that. Terrible.
So.. the classic looks better, but it got no voice on it.

I don't like the new interface TBH. I would have liked to mix and match features.

How can you watch the intro in the original mode? F10 only works after the intro finishes.
