Monkey Island crash on start up :(

I just bought MISE and was eager to play the game, but I only get a white window and then the game crashes. I googled and found out that alot of people having the same issues. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Yeah I have the same issue. Tried downloading the fixed DLL:s and everything but still wont work :(

Try running it in compatibility mode, with Windows 95 and check run as administrator. Worked for me.

It works on my hp laptop but crashes on my desktop during in startup everytime

Finally got it to work by uninstalling and reinstalling game and then reinstalling directx setup file from game's local files (in program files) of the steam app :)
The local files can be reached by right-clicking on the game in the steam library then clicking on properties.

Mine doesn't crash but "appears" to lock up on startup. ALT/ENTER to go to window mode it runs normally; can then go back to fullscreen once in menu. WIN10 GTX970m.

My daughter really wanted to play Monkey Island it took half a day to intall it and when she loaded it all it did was go to a white screen!
