Goku dies because of heart attack!
I just heard the news from Android 17. Even the greatest of all Saiyans could not stand against the cruelty of time. A moment of silence for our hero.

It wasn't a heart attack, it was a heart virus... Luckily, Future Trunks brought back a cure.

Goku died in like 1993. (Ep 188 original, 173 dub) They find a way to bring Goku back but Goku refuses, in fact.

As with most Shounen, it isnt permanent. He died twice before the heart disease.
