Rogue stealth stealing from shops
One of the in-game tips told me I could steal from shops by using rogue stealth, so I hopped on rogue for the first time to try it and found it was very difficult.

The shop keeper stands in the hall, so I can't squeeze past him without touching him and breaking stealth. I can't jump over him and get in as he comes out because he slams the door behind him so fast.

Is this an old tip (I've read that stealth used to function differently) or am I just not getting the timing perfectly right?

stealing from the shops is very difficult. It's far easier to simply lure the shop keeper onto spikes and kill him and take everything. I don't think I've ever successfully stolen something without the shop keeper noticing and following me.

But the question is whether you are even able to do it with rogue stealth, which one of the in-game tips says you can do. There are plenty of easy ways to kill the shop keeper even without using spikes. But I wanted to know whether one could do it without killing him using stealth

This is how i do it. Wand of digging or blink i just use the wand of digging abvove the door
Then sneak in and jump back over the door or hole. The blink will tele you in behind the door and take all then blink back out. I have done this many times.. Hell look in have a ??? Then ... and grumble but i never went back to look at him cause i didnt want hoim to suspect. Its Very Easy To do it this way and he doesnt suspect you unless you hang AROUND him. As far as rouge stealth i never suceeded doing so you can escape him if you get a chance for a break but then your wanted.

Well I've never tried this, BUT, rolling using the acrobatics tree takes you past solid enemies without breaking stealth. This could quite feasibly allow for stealing. Try it.

Hey, I just tried it out and rolling worked perfectly! Thanks!
