Castlevania Easter Egg?
My friend and I just beat the game for the first time, and on our second run through of the cave levels, I randomly broke a single block of a wall and it dropped an item that immediately restored 40 health when I picked it up. Is this a possible Castlevania Wall Chicken easter egg? I apologize if this has already been discovered or discussed.

I think it was inspired by castlevania, but yes it's a nice health boost for a crappy level. Also, I've theorized before that one is actually spawned in every caves level, but you make never find it because it's in a new place every time. I don't know if that is true or not, I usually find it every couple of cave levels by a stray shot or hit that shows damage numbers.

Also I've never seen it someplace other than the caves, can anyone else confirm that it exists elsewhere?

I've found them in the Forest at least. I'm sure they spawn elsewhere too.

They can spawn in literally any level actually, on random tiles, even below the ground, where you can't normally hit(discovered that by using a bomb on Planes of Despair, lol). More than one can spawn on the same level, too.
They're pretty easy to find if you have a lot of Shockwave spell charges. (or just hit every block like I do, hahaha)
Also, for some reason I've always called them pork.

Edit: the game logs just call it "wall meat". Still calling it pork though for all my life
Edit2: whaaat... the game doesn't spawn porkchops in level generation. It seems to spawn them dynamically as you hit a block :O
And it DOES call it porkchop, haha!

The roll for porkchop find seems to always happen on the fourth attempt(at least on my logs) but it also happens sometimes on the other attempts, too. I don't know when the game detects an "attempt" to search for wall meat... I think that if it detected every hit on a wall as an attempt my logs would be just loaded with these. That's curious...

That's actually really interesting. I wonder if the dynamic spawning is to increase framerate, just so that the game has less to track at once. Devs, I'd love to know the process for the wall meat spawning.
