Mage Enchantments?
Hey there! Er, relatively new player here, still getting used to the basics. Have managed to sorta trial-and-error work out a lot in the game, but there's one things still kinda confusing me.
Essentially, I'm a big fan of the the Mage class - and I find the idea of the enchantment route super interesting. Issue is... the enchantments I've used so far, I can't really figure out what they do? Even the starter spells... it sorta gives the frost/lightning symbols and effects. But I've not noticed it do anything... practical. Doesn't seem to effect damage or add debuffs to enemies or anything? Can anyone tell me what these enchantments actually do?

I also read somewhere about being able to enchant allies. Not sure if that's still possible? It seems a lot of the info out there is like, super outdated. Makes it hard to just look stuff up and get answers.
Can mages still enchant others? Orrr... is it just themselves now? Not found any way to enchant allies equipment.

Enchanting weapons adds damage to weapons as burning, lighting and freezing. You can still do this to everyone’s weapons. It makes melee really good even on the mage. Mage is a really good character to use but takes a while to get used to.

Enchanting yourself and weapons are seperate things.
Fire spells do fire enchants,
Lightning spells do lightning enchants,
Ice spells do ice enchants,
The Spirits spell gives +DEF
The Magic Missile , Shockwave spells give +STR
The Blink spell gives +SPD
The Summon Monster and Charm spells do ice enchants
The Evil Transformation book does a secret effect, but only if you're at 5 or less HP when you enchant yourself with it.

Enchanting yourself is a status effect which can be removed in the STATS menu.
Enchanting weapons persists to other player's weapons if they want enchant damage.
Enchanting Boomerangs with Magic Missile does something special, even just at level one.

Shhh, don't tell them about the ET thing
For a little extra clarification, enchanting yourself with elemental enchants makes your physical attacks (range and melee) have extra damage with the burning/freezing/shocking modifier. Once you get the third level of enchant and can give your weapons themselves those characteristics, enchanting yourself with elemental enchants becomes redundant, as far as I’m aware (correct me if I’m wrong, anybody). At that point, you can just use enchant on yourself with those non-elemental spells for buffs. By the way, you give a weapon elemental enchants by giving yourself an elemental enchant while you have that weapon equipped, so make sure you have a weapon equipped before you try to enchant it. Let me know if you have any questions! I almost always play alchemist/enchant mage, and have beaten “???.”

Enchanting yourself with an element even though you already have an enchanted weapon grants additional elemental damage (that's why there are levels of the elemental buffs). Also, the official name of the final boss is "The Lost Adventurer".

Sweet, thanks!
