What is the use of the "rune orb"?

I obtained the blue rune orb from the forest ruins with relative ease as the boss was not terribly difficult with my build, what is it's use?

I have just realized a strange object floats behind me while I hold the orb.

The object floating is the orb.

RUINS - Cave Orb - +2 STR on pickup.
FOREST - Temple Orb - +2 INT while held.
TOWER - Catatomb Orb - +2 SPD on pickup.
FACTORY - Rift Orb - +2 LCK on pickup.

Ah, thank you. Granted it is nearly useless to my build and probably would have been more worth my time to do a less physically rigorous stage.

the ruin and tower orbs can be dropped and re equipped repeatedly to preform a bug giving you more STR and SPD every time.
