Monsterful Tavern is a game mainly about a half-troll, half-orc bartender, his tavern*, and its place in The Undernests - an underground monster city. Expect lots of chopping, frying, cooking, building ovens, and hiring goblins, your tavern staff. It’s a proper simRPG (think Stardew Valley meets Graveyard Keeper). Well… almost, because alongside mushrooms you’ll be chopping knight’s legs and squeezing juice out of their… well, you get it.

* why a tavern? Lots of reasons, but mainly because our designer has run a board game cafe for years so we know all "running a tavern" secrets from inside out.

Let’s take a step back - there’s one big twist we made to this beloved formula. We felt this genre was missing something: a way for your dishes and decor to actually matter in the gameplay. Not just “make X burgers with Y because the quest says so.” We wanted your menu choices - whether you serve Bugyu Ramen or Bughetti - and how you decorate your tavern to have real impact on game mechanics. To pull that off, we added a deck-building layer. Every dish has its own properties, every customer has preferences, and whether you brew a chili lager or a worm ale can make your evening service smoother… or a glorious disaster. Our playtesters love it, and we hope you will too.

One more thing. The tavern is the social hub of The Undernests, so Monsterful Tavern won’t skimp on funny - and not so funny - stories tied to exploring this monster metropolis. You’ll find a goblin-run workshop, an underground megacorp, and even a vampire brothel where the currency isn’t eyes*, but your own blood. The Undernests itself deserves its own post - so stay tuned!

* In our game, the currency is the eyes of your enemies (knights) who invade The Undernests.
