I read the 1st 1/3
The reviewer seems to try & like the game but feels underwhelmed.
I layed a bit on a friends computer & meh
Also no one mentioned or noticed that this game used the Freeorion open source game pretty much stock and barrel and added a bit to it. So they didn't even code most of the game! But that's ok i guess since it was made open source to be used that way.
The game is closer to a board game like Twilight Imperium in its style of play than a usual 4x computer game. You think more about the grand scheme of your empire and where you want to go than the nitty gritty details of how your ships are built. The only thing missing from that scheme would be system governors who automate the tediousness away, but then you would have barely anything to do between turns. Heheheh
