Visual fluidity tends to be less stressful / motion sickness inducing.
My iMac is capable of 60fps in many heavy games like Metal Gear Rising (with frequent dips bc of the mobile GPU, but just for a few seconds during Blade Mode), Team Fortress 2 (in a decently-populated server), and Portal 2 with effects set to Maximum. All with VSYNC on.
