I would agree, that the difficulty spikes quite a ton, but with enough dedication and resolve you will manage to overcome it.

The key is to nail the first couple seconds, it's difficult but not impossible. There's been a couple older topics full of advices for the final level, I suggest you look them up.

It took me a good long and boring 10 minutes to do the last part, the fact that the hardest part of the game is surviving the first 2 seconds of the later levels is just bad game design.

the elevator is pretty easy to do, although very annoying. you just kind of have to strafe in between red guys and manage to punch them all out of their weapon, pick one of them up, then shoot it all out.

If you are fast enough you can punch the guy on the left, grab the gun, shoot the one on the right in the face, throw the gun at the one in the middle, grab the gun, shoot the one outside the elevator and then just kill the rest. Without moving.
