Also, some people speculate that blackbean is actually the phantom prince.

Hmmm that does make sense.I mean Puku was able to transform into the prince with his bracelet so maybe when the prince lost it he became a normal Phantom and lost his memories.Because he is quite strong.

i always assumed the same thing about black bean..that it is the real prince or the prince's shadow form.

He's most likely The Prince. You can ask Black Bean about its identity and it then wigs out because that's a question it can't answer. Furthermore, Black Bean is more powerful than the fake Prince without even using a bracelet, and shares the ability to teleport. So of course something powerful must have gotten lost in Great Fang before ending up locked in the arena at Oblivion Abyss...and you never meet The Prince anywhere else in-game. Assuming he would have died without his powers, Black Bean could just be his form of survival until he regains his memories and his true form via the bracelet (which makes sense given that Puku becomes a more powerful kind of forest monster when he wears it, but not an overtly Phantom-like one).

Whoever he is, he is ridiculously difficult. Makes the final boss look like a joke. Small wonder there's a dead dragon in the room before him.

Especially on happy and crazy mode.

On Crazy Mode, some of his attacks do 100 or higher damage to you, even with 75% damage reducing headgear or outfit. It's because of this in the last phase or screwing up on the earlier bosses that I haven't managed the boss rush on that difficulty yet.

It's annoying to get far in the fight then get hit by one of these attacks. I did manage to beat Oblivion Abyss to get the Crazy Mode Completed achievement, but I haven't finished S-ranking the mode yet. I'll probably try to finish Crazy S-rank this weekend if possible.

Probably the Phantom Prince.

Some say that he's the one who cursed Tokaron (I dunno if I got that name right, it has been a while.) but that doesn't really make sense - why would you curse something to make it capable of destroying your own world?

Kind of leaves an opening for a sequel as end-game the scientist does say the one who cursed him is still at large.

Did you beat him on hard or higher? He is ridiculus on happy and crazy ( where he kills you in pretty much 2 hits)
