Crazy Mode
What is the point of HP in crazy mode? I mean nearly everything is one-hitting me anyway and that is with damage reduction 50 % O.o

Well, I'm going after the achievements so I have to try Crazy Mode. Anyone has tips on that one. So far I S ranked - I think - 9 Levels including the first two boss battles. Currently screaming at my Laptop for the rolling boulders Levels which has SEVERAL annoying moments.
What is the most suitable Headgear for Crazy Mode? Currently I use the Nightcap as it has 50 % damage reduction and immunity to water/gas/trap damage. Also hoped the Critical amount x 3 would multiply my damage. But it does not. So what does Critical Amount x 3 actually do?
Are there other suitable Headgears? Does the Magic Hood help? Let's assume I somehow manage to S-rank all normal levels (with a lot of cursing). How to approach Black Bean? Merely managed to beat him on Happy Mode. Now with tripled damage it seems impossible. Then again the only video I saw the person fighting him does three times the damage I do. I assume it has to do something with the costume he wears (I think it is the one you get for getting good ending on Crazy Mode - Leopard Suit). Can I first get the good ending and then use the costume on the earlier save? Does it influence my stats and if so, how? Are there other costumes which change my stats? Currently fighting in pajama's because it is the only matching set I have (for one of the reverse levels).

I'm glad for every Piece of advice I can get. Maybe I have something in my posession already making this mode easier. Don't have much upgraded headgear though.

Old thread, sorry for bumping, but I figured I'd clarify a few things:

* EDIT: This one is not true. Sorry! (was: On Crazy Mode the headgear does nothing, all the bonuses listed only apply to Happy and lower.)
* The best way to have bonuses is to equip Nurse clothes (Happy Mode Boss Rush completed), Leopard Suit (Crazy Mode good ending) or the Swimsuit (Crazy Mode Boss Rush completed, good luck with that!).
* If you are very good against bosses the Nurse clothes would help, but for me I am going for the Leopard Suit first since it's easier to get. Edit: OR IS IT

Note that to get the good ending I believe (based on the JP wiki) that all you have to do is complete all levels, so you can get game overs, skip things and progress until you finish the game (using Popon for the end boss too since it's much easier) and then go back once you unlock the Leopard Suit.

Of course for bosses there's no point in getting a game over, it's a waste of time and/or money, just reloading the game is better in those cases.

I'm 100% sure headgear bonuses do apply on Crazy. The game instantly got easier for me once I got my level 5 Protection Helmet back (as early as the second cave level too, luckily) and the Samurai Helm continues being just as useful too.

You're right the bonuses still apply. My bad. I must have misread or used a bad G Translate to get that info.

So the Nurse suit was much easier to get than I thought. Turns out I should have used the Magic Cap against bosses and I was using the Night Cap. Everything dies much faster with the Magic Cap. And the Nurse suit makes Crazy bosses really easy so this plus just skipping most things in levels should make getting the Leopard suit very quick?

Edit: yup it did.
