No it does not but its simple to play with keyboard my 6 year old is loving the game the only issue im finding is that I cant get the music to work all other sounds and effects work perfect also subtitles. The other little flaw is that is not many options for video you can only choose a couple of resolutions I think 1024 is the highest but it looks ok.

Kind of a bummer that it doesn't support a conroller. My daughter loved this game on the Wii but we no longer have that console, so I figured buying it for the PC would work. Sadly, she hates playing with a mouse and keyboard. :-(

@Daniel She only needs to use Arrow keys, spacebar and Ctrl and Z.

I ended up just buying the Pinnacle profiler and making a custom profile for the game. Now she can use the controller with no issue.

JoyToKey is another workaround (but the game really should have controller support considering who it's targeted at): http://joytokey.net/en/

For an Xbox 360 controller — or any Xinput controller really — these are good JoyToKey bindings that try to match normal controller mappings:
  • LEFT: Arrow-Left
  • RIGHT: Arrow-Right
  • UP: Arrow-Up
  • DOWN: Arrow-Down
  • POV1:UP: Arrow-Up
  • POV1:RIGHT: Arrow-Right
  • POV1:DOWN: Arrow-Down
  • POV1:LEFT: Arrow-Left
  • Button 1: Shift (A button for "jump")
  • Button 2: X (B button for "use magic")
  • Button 3: Space (X button for "shoot/attack")
  • Button 4: Z (Y button for "talk to/activate")
  • Button 5: A (Left Bumper for "rotate left when picking dress")
  • Button 6: S (Right Bumber for "rotate right when picking dress")
  • Button 7: Escape (Select/Back button for "pause/menu/back")
  • Button 8: Enter (Start button for "start")

I like JoyToKey for what it manages to do while being free. Pinnacle is worth the bump in price for me though. There are a lot of controller profiles on there that I love using for casual play. Like when I'm farming and crafting in Guild Wars 2 or something, I can use a controller. Pretty sweet.

Oh, I wasn't suggesting that one was better than the other. I haven't even tried Pinnacle, so I couldn't judge if I wanted to. :) I just wanted to offer an alternative for those in need of a such for whatever reason. It should also be said that the shareware version of JoyToKey is not as good as the last completely free version which seems to have disappeared completely now.

Also, be careful if you google for JoyToKey. Lots and lots of shady sites offer "free" downloads that just happen to be bundled with all sorts of malware. I linked the official site in my previous post, it's highly recommended to stick to that.

AutoHotKey could do it too if you wanted an absolutely free and non-limited way to achieve controller support. It's a bit of a hassle to set up at first though.

JoyCur is free and has multiple profiles: http://www.deinmeister.de/joycur_e.htm

I haven't compared it to JoyToKey or Pinnacle. I'm using it for this game and My Fairytale Adventure and it works pretty well.

I think i'll try Pinnacle for my daughter. She is okay on a KB&M, but it's not as relaxing for her.
Do you have the profile saved?

I don't, but it was super easy to make. Took about 10 minutes. I'm out of town right now, but I'll save it when I get back to my PC at home and put it up somewhere to share it.

works for me just like madsen's setup. never had an issue.

Actually I've recently discovered AntiMicro. It handles keyboard+mouse <=> joypad mapping like the others, and it offers automatic switching between profiles based on running processes (really useful IMO).

Best of all, it's 100% free AND it's open source (so you can actually see that it doesn't do any funny stuff to your computer): https://github.com/AntiMicro/antimicro

I'm gonna pick this up this and see how it works with the Steam controller with all its crazy programming features.

I have had strange issues trying to get this game working with my Steam controller. Most binds do not work and some issue different commands to the game (like speak keys sends the shoot magic key). I cannot figure out why this game will not work with this controller, I will look into Pinnacle and see if that one works.

As this game does not work with Steam overlay the Steam controller will not work. Looks like I will have to bring plug my Xbox controller back in and setup Pinnacle with that for this game.

FYI Pinnacle also will not work with the Steam controller as it is detected as a keyboard/HID device and usable basically by Steam only.
