Keep up the good work !
I'm curious about this as well! What are some of the planned features?
Currently, it says:
"For the next patch or three: Multiplayer stability work, boss work, The Item Patch (someday soon!), narrative work. We're also overdue for a basic small-bug-fix-set patch -- we have a few dozen tiny things that should really be fixed that we'll probably spend some time on this coming patch. We've gotten most of our big singleplayer crashes out of the way -- at least, the ones that our reporter sends us -- but there's one happening in online multi, and one game-quit we're still working on. (Send us your log if your game exits on you!) "
1: They've definitely said a "Wily-esque" Level 9 is in the works (iirc, it'll be released when the game leaves Beta?)
2: There actually was some plot back in some of the earlier Alphas, but it got removed as it was fairly basic and I think BSG wanted to rewrite a few things. You were able to find "Datalore" randomly which unlocked bits of lore to read. Another update had a bit of conversation before each boss.. but I think that was removed as they thought the writing could be better (that, and it was a little intrusive)
3: Almost definite there's going to be a whole bunch of rebalancing going on soon, especially when it comes to bosses. Eridu [Skytemple] used to always be on levels 4 and 8, and was a lot harder than it is now - while I still think that Eridu is still the hardest of the four levels (which is also further proved by the fact that you never find Eridu as level 1), it's definitely come a long way since Alpha. ;o Although I think the levels will still have SOME difficulty differences, they won't near be as severe as they are now.
Pfft, you should have seen Agnisort [Flamelab] about 3 months ago, when the new level pieces were added. WOW did that level get difficult - arguably harder than Eridu, ESPECIALLY in the later half. Although I think that's definitely influenced me to get Agnisort out of the way fast now during runs, even if the difficulty's been tamed down a lot since then.
Xbox one controllers are already supported. I've used one on a few occations.
