How does 'Outnumber' work?
I picked up the 'Outnumber' skill for my might-based hero, under Leadership somewhere. According to the description, it should enable me to bring 8 stacks of creatures into combat instead of the normal 6. "Neat!" I thought - "That way, I can bring BOTH kinds of Champion-creatures into combat with me, with room left over!"

But... I still seem to have only 6 slots. In a city, on the character-screen, when trading with another hero... just 6. However, when I enter combat, there actually is 8 slots available during the setup-phase. The last two being empty, for obvious reasons.

Now, I'd be inclined to suspect this is a bug, because... well, c'mon. But it COULD just be the case of me missing something obvious about how the skill's supposed to work. >_>

You can normally only have 7 stacks at maximum depending on faction (divide 1stack into +2 with outnumber) with you at all times. However with the outnumber skill you can spread out your troop roster to an actual 8 deployable toop stacks thus giving you the advantage of being able to attack with 1 extra stack during battles. To conclude, the outnumber skill does not really add troops to your army, however you're able to spread them out over a wider area.. Good way to use outnumber is with the tactics skill. Spread them out even wider and closer to the enemy..

Right... that's pretty bloody useless. I'm gonna see if I still have an autosave from before I picked it. :UnhappyMask:

It's also usefull with garrisons( you can have your full stacks + 2 local garriosn stacks, making it good for town/fort defense

It's actually a very powerful skill that let you bring all 9 stacks of creatures to the battle but there's a trick to use it and here is how.

First you have to have the skill of course.
Second, when you go into battle, you will see there are 2 extra stacks in the deployment phase.
Third, remove two stacks of unit from the map which should return them to the stack line
Forth, move the 2 stacks line you want to the "reserve" stack which will then clear up 2 out of the main 7 stacks.
Fifth, your heroes should be able to get two more stacks of creatures and go to battle with all 9 stacks.

This work for me so hope it work for you guys as well. Cheers.

tried this spliting a stack in 1 individual and putting him in the reserve. it works where you can deploy more stacks but the "reserve stacks" are deleted right after the battle. just poof gone. anything in the reserve after the fight is gone permanently
