How to play as Custom Skins

I've put about 8 hours into this game and I still for the life of me cannot figure out how to play as custom skins. I go into the workshop and find really beautiful, amazing ones I would love to play as, but I'm not sure what to do next. I've tried creating a collection and then going through customization in-game. Not sure what to do.

download from steams program library (dunno what it's called in english). oor, play as your custom skin in-game using umod. your own risk though, it can cause VAC ban

You can't play as workshop skins ingame, if that's what you wanted. PCE's workshop doesn't work like other games, where you subscribe to an item and can then use it ingame. In this game's case, people create skins and upload them to the workshop, and devs will later select some to include in a future update.

It works exactly the way C4RNIVOR3 says. There is no way to test the workshop skins for the public. The only way to play with the workshop skins is to vote on them and hope that they are included in the next update.

Ah thanks, that's pretty unfortunate. But makes sense.
