I do like killing rexes and spinos though - definitely an accomplishment. Although almost impossible. Pathfinder is very nerfed ATM, and so is the soldier. I feel the Pyro's Chainsaw damage could go up just a small notch. Takes ages to saw through a raptor.... but that's just my opinon.
The only thing tyrants really need is a Team Cooldown Timer. When a tyrant dies a timer is put on them so that no one can choose tyrant for a given amount of time. this kills tyrant hogs and spectator idlers who wait around to snag up a tyrant when one dies. this also keeps the field from being spammed by tyrants. and yes, this would be included to the player to tyrant limit. so you could have 3 tyrants, all of them die... and then you have to wait for anyone to choose tyrant again. its a pretty good balance idea that keeps the game fin and challenging for both teams. and would be nice to limit the field to smaller things for a short duration.
Not really, Tryant is a class just like every other class in the game, especially when you have 3-4 of them running around maps specifically designed for dinos they need to be balanced. How they were last patch was the closest to balanced they have been so far. Their bite range and turning speed is redicules, combined with their wall clipping and then darting to a carcass when they finally do get low on health. Tryant should have two things, A cooldown time and a specific amount of times a player can play a Tryant in a game. That way, someone cannot spam Tryant and Tyrant in general cannot be spammed and it depends on general skill. So if all the dino players that match are bad at Tyrant and have all used up their, say Two Slots of Tyrant each, then thats it, no more Tyrants that match. If this game is to try and make us believe that the Tryant class is some special Tank class then it needs to be treated as such to make it limited and balanced.
These are really good suggestions also. Sniper does need some sort of rehaul, some of it is because of the bad hit detection in this game, then the other is that the Sniper Rifle seems more like an inaccurate bb gun rather than a sleek accurate gun designed to blast through dino skulls. I've shot point blank at carnos and tyrants before and no damage is registered, and this game is coming out of EA? Lol
Am I the only one who thinks that a Raptor who pounces on a Pyro currently using the chainsaw should kill the Raptor? It was a glitch I believe from a couple patches ago but it actually balanced Raptor Pounce Spam a little, since Raptors can run from fire pretty quickly and are hard to kill as Pyro anyway, plus its also logical lol Like if I have my saw is up and a Raptor pounces me, why is the saw not through his head? I didnt turn it off
- THIS GAME WILL NEVER BE COMPLETELY BALANCED IN THE EYES OF EVERYONE.
- There are many players that prefer to play a specific character and so they get REALLY GOOD at playing that character.
- There is a hugely varying degree of talent and skill between every player in the game
With that said, yes the balance should still be tweeked every now and then to make sure that
1. people dont get too crazy good with their favorite character
2. every character has the ability to dominate the match in the control of a skilled player, rather than being totally crushed no matter how skilled the player is
If I were to touch anything right now, would be the raptor healing speed, which should be dropped back to 1.3 levels: right now, if you are fighting anywhere near a carcass, a raptor can leave a fight and immediately come back good-as-new.
It's so fast that even if you know what they intend to do, you can't stop it, and if there's more than one raptor/ovi, they can take turns at healing right in front of you.
The only dinos who deserve such fast regeneration are the spitters.
1. Yes. I don't know why it takes so long to get a sight on, too long of a pause creates dead scientists, sure it's "realistic" but it's certainly not practical.
2. Agreed. The Pathfinder AoD is terrible. It was better last patch. Heck, I found the Pathfinder perfectly the best when this game went first week EA.
3. Yes. Commando's rifle damage is too weak now. Last night I unloaded a FULL CLIP into a on comming raptor who was coming at me straight down a catwalk 100 meters away while in crouch position, the raptor killed me. FULL CLIP.
As for Pyros, I think the damage is fine, however, extend the flame a little more, feels to short. Patch 1.02 for classic PC had it right.
4. Some players still like using melee, I guess it was more "dishonorable" to pounce someone back in the day.
5. Sticter class cap maybe?
6. Yes. At least do it while running, it's practically pointless since human players just can dodge it to easy.
