Primal Carnage: Extinction

Primal Carnage: Extinction

Game dying, but can it be saved?
Game is dying and i think it's mainly because OP humans aren't simply fun to play against. Their one-hit-kill weapons and explosives are far simply too opressive and not even fun or challenging to master, they just feel cheap.

When the game was more dinosaur sided at least you had more dinosaur fans checking on this game, nowadays there is little reason when games which fully cater to them like Path of Titans or The Isle are out there and people who prefer humans are just gonna play whatever flavour of the month or popular shooter over Primal Carnage any day. So i don't think the game's current direction is benefical at all.

*Reverse most of the changes to balance and make the game harder for humans again
*Focus on features which actually attract back the original playerbase, don't be snarky when people request for more dinosaurs in a dinosaur centric game.

These are just the few suggestions that come to mind.

I am often one of the top players on either of the teams and i play games at semi-competitive level much harder than this. The issue isn't skill-related but the fact there is no such thing as skill involved when it comes to plenty of the cheap one hit kill weapons like Double-barreled shotgun or grenade launcher from commando just to name a few and if it was just a skill issue the game wouldn't be losing players at even larger rate since humans started being overpowered.

I am curious though, what DInosaurs do ONE SHOT insta-kill humans other than Tyrants?

the DB shotgun is high risk, high reward, It takes skill because you have to be really close for it to do max damage, if you even slightly far away it will do like 40 damage, So just learn to counter it.
also, im pretty sure the green spit dilo can one shot.

If DB was truly "high risk, high reward" then the people who choose it over regular shotgun wouldn't be the vast majority. In practice It's simply a better weapon in every way with hardly any downsides to it. A weapon that requires basically no aiming to instakill most of the dino classes which dare to get even a bit close, (which dinos are supposed to) was always a terrible idea and has made regular shotgun pretty much redundant. The number of trollfinder that can use it on a team absolutely needs to be limited like some of the heavier dinosaur classes are.

I am pretty sure dilo green spit shouldn't insta-kill you with a single shot, if it does, it's likely a bug/exploit.

It has 2 shots only. you have to be smart with when you shoot, and who you shoot, its less reliable than the other shotguns over all, You sacrifice ammo for damage.

It is more likely that now that PC:E is getting good and decent deals: it is safe to act accordingly based on the player-count which is suppose to be obligated to increase in number rather than declining due to questionable environments in-game.

Even now, we're expected to do something about it; I believe it's time for us to make ourselves evermore useful for the sake of this Game's life. One that the Dev Team cannot deny that reality.
Dude this game has apparently literally never broken 1k concurrent players on steam even on release it's been dead

when have you last played the game?
this game will stay like this for a long time. I used to play AVP from 2001, back in 2015 it was like here, one server at any given time, like 30 people, but you always had it over the years. This game will not go extinct for atleast 10 years as long as us fossils keep one server alive.
