Primal Carnage: Extinction

About the Double-Barrel Nerf
I just want to know why? Just why. . .

So dinos receive a buff and then humans get a nerf? The game was unbalanced before, but now with the tyrant health-boost, humans are going to get destroyed. I get it, tyrants are supposed to be tanks, and they already were. This health boost has just made them monsters. With the double-barrel nerfed in range, damage, and spread, pathfinders are going to go back to being the least-played class because the only real reason to play them is for an easier shot. This never happens though, the shotgun makes it just as hard to land hits as it does for the assault rifle.

Considering that humans weapons do more damage, I think is still fair for humans. Humans got a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of buffs in this update, I haven't seen so many human buffs before. For me, I still see the things the same as before, except that it seems raptors are a bit difficutl to play now.

Besides, the DB was broken as hell, and I am glad it is "fixed" since now all servers allow it.

We've told you ingame the DBS nerf was coming, the weapon as it was was broken and had additional damage modifiers that it was not supposed to have in the first place. Not sure why you're even surprised. The DBS has been modified multiple times throughout multiple Open Testing builds[primalcarnageforums.com], maybe you should have joined the testing sessions over the course of the last two months and given your input on the weapon prior to all of those changes going live.

Pretty much. One shorting a carbon on a head shot. Dbs was a freaking calamity. Glad it's needed now.

As for the tyrants. They feel like proper tanks opposed to just meat shields for smaller team mates. I've seen too many tyrants get gang banged in seconds. As well as having solo's so many myself. It's about time they got some recognition

Never mind, I am happy as long as it can one-shot small dinos like it should.

Why do you need a weapon to one-hit kill things? Doesn't that feel cheap and empty to you?

You calling dinosaurs cheap and empty?

Scientist is my favourite human class and she is all about one shotting things.

As long there are enough drawbacks that force players to employ skill and/or strategy, one hit kill mechanics don't have to be brain-dead.

Without close-range stopping power, there's no point in even having a DB shotgun; it just needs to suck at everything else.

DB was broken beyond what was ok. If you had to rely on a broken and OP gun then you should practice your aim a little more.

In this game, yes.

Sniper is the obvious exception, and she doesn't one-hit kill except in a precise shot, which for most people, is only ever going to be an accident. Even in 1.3, most snipers I play against don't kill me, much less get a headshot. However, I'm not going to disagree with you, because I know you are one of the few posting here to say reasonable things.

I did play today, and I tended to die largely to commando rockets, shotgun blasts, and trapper nets. This game still has deep issues with one-hit kill mechanics that are favored by most and make the game unpleasant to play for a small dino.

Well after 500+ hours on this game, I'm just gonna say that other than spitters, all dinosaur classes have some means of pulling off a 1-shot move. Classes like commando and sniper are too hard to aim with, and need 1-shot moves like headshot or grenades. The guys who are good to aim with, like pyro and trapper, do so little damage you might as well give up on any means other than your 1-shot tactics like knifing and molotovs. This leaves the pathfinder, who does great damage, is easy to shoot with, and can 1-shot with his main weapon. Humans, in general, do more total damage but lack health, stamina, and speed. Dinosaurs have speed, stamina, health, and do only slightly less damage than humans. So, being able to pull off a 1-shot with every magazine makes you no less skilled or poweful than someone who only plays as a tyrant. And, of course, there are exceptions to everything.

And I agree and am happy with all nerfs made to the DB.

Well the carno and tupa bite exploits were fixed in this patch so that should prevent them from one hitting, unless something was overlooked somewhere. Or they knock you off a platform, in which case hazards/fall damage usually kill but that's not the same thing.

I'm not too happy about the fire rate either

Old exploits have been fixed, but it seems there is now a lot of new ones:
at first, some Pathfinder used the netgun as his secondary weapon (perhaps the reason is the same as a bug with textures).
secondly, sometimes Carno's hits launch you into the sky like a rocket, causing instant death after landing. It looks funny, but annoying.
The first issue is the same bug as dinosaurs using the wrong skins. You play as the class who's weapon you're using, but you look like another since you're using another mesh. This was thought to be fixed, but should be hotfixed soon.

The carno launching people into space is an old bug. Very old. It is the physics in the game, and not as easy to fix most likely.
