Not sure if it's been different where you are
from where I am in the US
there's about 24-32 people playing this game every so often and never often enough.
It's a sign of a game that has more official servers up than is worth the devs paying to keep running. that reflects in the cosmetic market. resulting in more cash grabby tactics to help keep things running.
But at this rate primal carnage is operating at a net loss financially. Unless I'm wrong and 32 people are buying enough cosmetics to keep all the official servers up and running and properly maintenanced at appropriate intervals.
which, lets face it. No matter how good your internet is, the servers are laggy as heck and only work well on rare occasion.
that mixed with the bugs make for a game a lot of gamers refuse to invest in even though this game is pretty cheap to buy and play without visiting the market.
All this isn't to say I hate the game or don't think it's fun.
I love the game. I love it cause I'm just a sucker for simplistic violent dino games.
Much like Orion Prelude.
But Primal Carnage happens to have better looking cosmetics so I stick to it more often these days.
I accept the game as it is though. Eventually someone will capitalize on the market that this game caters to in a more efficient and competitive manner and whenever that day comes i'll make the switch.
Till then I respect the autonomy of the company while still being fairly transparent about my feelings towards the over all game.
In summery, the game is fun but buggy and a bit dead. Still, I'm one that can put up with it so I don't mind spending money on it occasionally.
This has been nice but the new content is mostly just seasonal stuff, not including survival updates.
Once the seasonal stuff passes the surge will die down. such is the nature of most online games like this. The limited edittion skins and items will draw the attention of many then when it goes back to is usual state people return to their other games of interest.
Im certainly taking advantage of the increased options for TDM rooms though.
If things stay at this hightened level of traffic well pass the holiday seasons (halloween, new years, and christmas) then I'll have been mistaken in my claims.
