Primal Carnage: Extinction

Primal Carnage: Extinction

What's Wrong with Primal Carnage Extinction? What Does this Game need to get Attention?
I'm no professional developer or anything, atleast not yet. However, when I am feeling overloaded or get confused it always helps me to list everything i'm dealing with. Then from that list i'll choose 1 thing, i'll research it, and finally i'll tackle the issue full force.

I Personally love the Primal Carnage games alot, I can say personally I still play and would play more if there were servers with decent pings and reasonable amounts of players on TDM, GTTC, or even the Survival mode, just anything but Roleplay.

Anyways the point of this discussion is to present the Primal Carnage: Extinction Team with a huge list of:

A.) New Stuff-Things you'd like to see in the future.

B.) Fixes-Any issue, inbalance, or bug you've seen in the game and screenshots if you can provide them to help the devs start to solve the problem/ a description of what caused the bug.

Keep in mind i'm sure were all well aware that there are bugs in the game, but the point of this is to be as specific and nit picky as possible so hopefully we can tackle each issue one at a time.

Personally I feel like if this game was fixed like this 1 update at a time all it would take is a new dinosaur or revamped game mode to pull in new/old players.

New-
I remember when Pachycephalosaur was being talked about as a new dinosaur class but, it hasn't quite happend yet. I'd love to see a new dinosar added to the game.

Maybe some sort of new foggy jungle map that decreases visibility, seriously just adding fog to a forest chasm map with more bushes and trees would be enough.

Bugs-
Pteranodon can push players under the map, this in my opinion is broken.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or design choice but if the trapper nets a dinosaur shouldn't the trapper always get credit for the kill? Just a thought.

Well this game did get a lot of attention back in Primal Carnages days, it kinda faded a bit with the release of Primal Carnage Extinction.
This game is dying (like really) with one dev working on this game in their freetime for free and every other dev and dev team long gone. There are the option to hire new people but the resorses are just not there plus this games code is just so over the place it's difficult to do anything anymore.

There were a lot of content planned for the game with even a first person shooter called onslaught being planned, but with devs splitting up this never happend. There were other dinos planned, new human classes, new gamemodes but none of this will happen.

That's not getting fixed. There aren't enough resources to actually tackle the issue (something to do with the fact ptera and human collision merges when ptera grabs a human), and last we heard, dinosauriac accomodated for this by trying to raise the kill zone under docks so that ptera can't simply drop a human under the map and fly out.

With only one Dev now I doubt we're gonna see anything as far as development of new stuffs involved. In fact, we may not see anything at all not even bug fixes.

A workshop implementation should of been introduced near PCE's humble beginnings. I believe this would of helped PCE stay strong in it's now dire times.

Capt we will get atleast one update untill Wraiyth is saying good bye which is going to add quite a lot of things, but only things that were only already in the game. These things include compy and the veteran class.

How can you even be sure of this? Everything shows It's gonna be a manteinance, economy and bug fixing patch at much, devs could never balance the existing classes right, what makes you think one dev doing minimal job for the game nowadays is going to be capable of implementing 2 new classes without breaking the whole game again?

You could ask on the official discord, it's almost for sure that there will be a larger patch

Current players sit in "RP" servers and DM servers die after 3 games. It's a real shame, I loved the first, and recently tried this one again, but server run old maps, and RP server for people with "cosmetics" to sit around and jerk each other off. Great game, terrible community.

Thanks for that. However, I agree with Armonites later comment. Experience as shown with each update comes new bugs so there could be new on top of old. If & when Wraiyth does leave, who'll be left to fix anything?? We could end up with PCE being no good at all!!! :steamsad:

I support not adding anything new but to fully concentrate on bugs so when Wraiyth does leave PCE's legacy will remain for all time.

I agree on that part, a lot of the freeroam servers got people in them compared to TDM servers. Had a hard time getting more than 8 people to play a few days back

Wow, I had no idea there was only 1 developer working for free. That explains alot though. Procompsognathus is my favorite dinosaur (unless you count archaeopteryx as a dinosaur I suppose.) it would be awesome to get those little dinos as a playable class but thats obviously unlikey at best.

It's like this game is cursed or something, I mean think about it.

-As mentioned terrible player community (only concerned with skins)

-All but one of the developers has moved on.

-The game is buggy and was left unfixed.

How did this happen :(

It happened because the game was buggy and terrible to begin with. Lack of priorities/lack of knowledge/lack of money caused poor choices in game design, and so the player base to faded away to better things. People want to play games that are fun, and it's not fun to have your shots miss because 75% of the server has ping over 150.

People flock to freeroam (which are not all automatically rp servers, the fact after all these years this still needs to be said is tiresome) because competitive is honestly not very fun. Subjective opinion of course, but especially as a result of the last update breaking even more things and putting humans in the worst position they've seen in a while, there's frankly little point in putting serious effort into competitive and fighting with a broken game. Even people who main human team don't want to play human right now because they've been screwed so bad.

Honestly.

I guess that's why the game is dying.
