I know it's kind of hard if the whole cross-platform system is based on one way to authenticate using an e-mail and a password. In my mind Steam OAuth isn't hard to adopt, the hard bit is to rework your code to have a generic authentication process that would allow to have various authentication systems. I know it's a hard ask, but imagine how much more you, as a developer, will learn and be able to apply in all other future projects, how convenient it will be for the players to play in online multiplayer...
