Sally's Playthrough (lockpick shortage)

So, EVERY mission needs me to use a lockpick somewhere. But for some eason I've only found one so far. Even running around for hours, I can't find lockpicks or the material to make lockpicks with Sally. I have hundreds of useless garbage that I can't use for anything, but can't progress without a lot of time just wondering around and searching for an essential item that was made rare to her for reasons unknow.
Does anyone have the same problem? The loot is random? Any tips?

I've had the same problem so far.

It took me literally 3 hours just scavenging for a single lockpick. The loot system is awful, with a lot of things to do that you'll never make because they are not worth and the same six items you have to use all the time.

i think sally's supposed to rely on her sales, in order to buy what you need rather than looting.
that being said i'm about 5 days in and have only just now noticed i'm out of bobby pins. still have no idea how to acquire butterflies.

bobby pins are usually found in wastrel areas and there are few wastrel houses to loot

i also noticed she doesn't get many lock picks in her run

you don't always need a lockpick. Look for alternate routes where possible. Sometimes you can scale areas and use back entrances instead of using lockpicks.

kill or knock out bobbies for bobby pins. they always have 1-3 on each of them. Though sally is completely useless so that will be hard.

I've gotten a mandatory locked door for the mission where you have to collect the Uncle Jack vinils. It took me a while, but I've found a lockpick to complete the mission and finally feed the baby.
Then, when I had to get an extra chem kit from the old house, the last door was locked.
In both cases, there were no way to not use the door. And every available trash can, post, unlocked chest and home invasions didn't gave me not a single bobby pin for three hours.

And none of the merchants sells lockpicks or bobby pins, so buy one is not a solution for me.

I got it after a long time, but the way this chore is implemented in the game is obnoxious.

You could scale up to the vinyl, but I'm having the same problem with the extra chem kit and haven't found bobby pins or lockpicks anywhere. It's really frustrating.

Im on my sally playthrough and i got like 20 lockpicks and 500 cash. Sell stuff you would usually craft things with as arthur. Also dont bother wasting lock picks on lockers and desks. They either have really bad loot or more often than not are empty.

Também tive o mesmo problema e quase desisti. A maioria dos lockpicks ficam em medical cabinets (espelhos) nos hatchs ou nas casas das pessoas das cidades. Se vc conseguir invadir as casas das pessoas, tem mtos bobby pins ali. No inicio do jogo eu entrei em um hatch e consegui alguns para a primeira missão.

Can't you craft lockpicks from bobby pins? I find tons of bobby pins everywhere. Or you could take out a bobby and rob them, funnily enough bobbies often carry bobby pins.
