The "Europe 1938" map
Hi, Compulsion guys :)
Why did you use a post-WW2 map of Europe as a 1938 map of Europe? This is a huge historic error.

I can't see anything about the map there.

But probably I can deduce what they are saying - "this is not a historical game". Yeah sure, it is based on the "Germans win WW2" scenario. But all the more, there is no place for the map resulting from the "Germans lose" scenario in this game.

Because it's not the same Germany as we know.
Btw, is this the map you mean? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1481007439

AFAIK the map fragment which is shown on Your screenshot is the map of a fragment of England and Ireland, and I am talking about this:

This is obviously a post-1945 map of Europe and it cannot be used as 1938's map ofEurope as it shows a version Eurpoe after the war in which the Germans were defeated.

Am I the only one seeing a map of "Europe 1938" that someone has written and drawn on with a marker pen?

What is so obviously different? I'm studying it side by side compare to a map from 1937... They're virtually identical.

Please compare the shape of 1938 Poland here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poland#/media/File:RzeczpospolitaII.png

with the shape of Poland on this map, which is basically a contemporary state.

Yes, I am from Poland, and I perfectly understand that it is not a historical game - but I think that it is nonsensical to use post-WW2 shape of Poland (and probably also Czechoslovakia, Romania etc.) in a pre-WW2 map even if the WW2 ended in the game unlike it really did. The post-1945 shape of Poland is a direct (and, IMHO, very unfortunate) result of the processes occurring during the WW2. So, the country could have not existed in such a shape in a world in which the WW2 hadn't occurred yet. It's a huge anachronism.

Huge is an overstatement. 99% of the audience wouldn't even notice it. It may be huge to you, but then, You're part of a severe minority here.

A huge error remains huge, irrespective of the number of people who will notice it.

I absolutely noticed this and came to look it up because it was messing with my mind. kinda breaks immersion, like many things, it felt like it was trying to make me speculate about what happened and I'm disappointed that it was just an oversight. :T

@joridiculous But the French Soviet Republic was an obvious (haven't finished the game, so could be wrong, but that's how it appeared. I'm still at some cthulu ♥♥♥♥ stage of reasoning ._.) in-lore detail, not a weird map oversight

it is not a historically correct game. the war(s) isnt the same as in Our universe. Hitler newer got the power, Germany won, borders are different because the wars didnt go as you think they did.
