Short game is short.
Were expecting for the game to be longer or as long than the previous tittles but finished it in one sitting with friends. i assume there's dlc and such planned for it as the ending is bit of a cliff hanger?

Also would add the price is _VERY_ steep for a game of this length. 20€ for 4 hours of game

I wondered about that too. Choosing something like this an an ending is really strange though, it's like they simply stopped working in the middle of the game.

Also i would say another disappoitment would be lack of character progression. you have no talent trees, items, learning new spells or such in this game. If you were to skip the side missions which actually hold no real value, just being either an arena or a mini level where youre locked to one character. Also if you dont fool around like we did, you could finish the game under 2 hours easily.

Wow thanks for the heads up. Will be giving this game a miss then!

I....honestly don't recall the previous games being all that long actually.

Well, looking trough my previous times on steam. which include two playtroughs of both games and bit extra. first game i have clocked 11 hours, second 24 hours. so with quick estimation first one were about 4-5 hours long, second 8-10.

If you were to play just the story in this game and not fool around as i mentioned. you could most likely complete it under 2 hours. not to mention this game being higher price than the previous ones.

Game is very good and the native 3D is a reason by itself for me to buy. But I finished it in 3 hours... I was actually also expecting a bit more, after I bough it Early Access and played already 2 hours before. Considering the cliffhanger in the end, I suppose there is coming something in the near future. I hope it will be included in the price package.

Wonderful game, like the first two Trines. I love the new levels and the 3D gameplay. My only complaint: the game is too short, yes.

The developers said somewhere that switching to 3D took longer and was more work than they anticipated, so most likely that's the reason there isn't more content at the moment.

Still, I'm sure there's more coming in the not too far future. If you remember the end of the game, there's still two pieces of Trine shards missing, not to mention finding Sarek's heart and defeating Sarek himself.

So that's at least 4-5 additional story levels plus several boss levels and maybe more challenge levels, that will likely come in the form of one or more DLCs. Which means that the complete Trine 3 should be as long or longer than Trine 2 Complete Story.

Here's hoping we get an official statement soon.

I was thinking, considering how the map is set up as a board game, that there would be other blocks where in each one there are 4- 5 chapters to progress. And that you move between boards for each new segment of the trine. Maybe this is their plan, maybe not. All i know is that there are arrows on the border of the map that almost act as though they wish to expand it in either direction.

Wow I've been eagerly waiting for Trine 3 and they managed to disappoint me flawlessly. Thanks, not buying then.

I've always gotten Trine on sale in the past so doesn't change it from my perspective

Exactly this.

Trine 2 was a great game for 3 bucks. Short, but fun. I'm sure this too will be a great game at 3 bucks when me and a handful of friends can all get it and beat it in a night.

I wouldn't even mind the short length that much, but the game as it is right now just feels like someone made 1/3 of a game, then called it a day. I can't remember an ending this abrupt and out of left field since that one Kickstarter game that literally ended in a black screen.

wtf happened weren't they going to release it when it was fully done ?

We were expecting a full game and it was not, Trine 3 does many things great, and the segment of the game we recieved delivers well in story and variety, i'm sure Trine 3 will be great, but when we get the full game, not right now.

I've got mixed feelings, maybe the rest of the game will be great, but will we have to pay again? imagine if in trine 2 they cut the game right after you talk to Rosabel.
