I just finished the demo, and my biggest issue is that you can't queue inputs. There were numerous times where I'd tap a direction and not move that way, and there were even a few times where I'd be actively holding a direction across multiple turns and still not move that way. This happened not only on controller, but also with the arrow keys and WASD on my keyboard, so I'm pretty sure the issue isn't on my end.
