The start of that episode from what I can gather was the same night as the end of the previous episode so somewhere between having watered it that morning and waking up during the night the plant died.

Will have to re-start too, of course... Lisa is worth it
I went back to the previous episode so I could save Lisa. I doubt it'll change much having the plant alive but it gave me something to do for a bit while I wait for the next episode to come out.
This. It's fairly ominous in that it sets up that not only do choices have consequences, but that sometimes inaction might be the better choice. It also plays with the expectations of gamers, which is always good.
