And mentioning sex doesn't make him a rapist either, just a hormonal teen.
And it's true in a lot of cases anyways, girls complaining about there not being any sensitive guys etc but that's because they are all friendzoned just like Warren seems to be, and he is probably aware of that.
For me Warren was cool i didn't know about that film either, so it's a real disgusting film..
and Warren is laughing is @ss off about that film..
some of you must be right he is weird.. (polite word).
Thanks rebel !
The wiki about the film is enough for me, a friend at work told me about another disturbing film of the same style, he told me after several minutes i gave up because what was filmed was too horrible and too real and he is not easily disturbed trust me.
I will of course don't even give tht title. ;)
The problem is, Warren isn't as obvious as other characters? Or I guess what I mean is, they go out of there way more with Warren, to kind of have him ride that line between being nice and weird. Whereas other characters are more extreme. So that is the ONLY thing, that makes me think Maybe Warren will end up turning out bad. Because he doesn't entirely fit into place like the other characters do (with the writers style).
It's hard to say though. Like anyone that knows film, would go WTF at Warren's comment about Cannibal Holocaust. But do most people actually know what that film is? Do the writers expect most people to know? And that is where it's hard trying to figure out, how obvious they are being with his character being a red herring. Because if the writers expected that line to be really overt and on the nose, then it would make Warren a typical Red Herring like other characters. But if that line/dialogue was supposed to go under the radar, then it kind of piques my interest, as most characters in this game (that fit the red herring) are way more overt.
People need to realize though, this game is going to have red herring's everywhere. I doubt Nathan for instance, is going to be the ultimate bad, same way Chloe's step father won't be.
I will give the writers credit in that, Warren's behavior is very easy to read too much into. And for the most part, I do think some people are reading a bit much into some of his actions. The dude isn't like THAT creepy. Also, perception is everything. We are all on our guard, because we know this is a mystery story. And when you know something is a mystery, you are more likely to approach things differently because in the back of your head, you know there is going to be a twist, or things won't be what they seem.
So in that sense, our perception of Warren is going to be different, had this been a different genre/type of story. Because we are expecting something to happen, it kind of makes it easier to put all his actions under a microscope and start to draw the worst conclusions/outcomes. So I'm not 100% sold Warren is a freak? And yet as as someone that works in the film industry, I can't help but be like WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ about his line about that film.
I guess out of all the characters, Warren def feels like the most subtle of the Red Herrings. I see a lot of people on here rail on how creepy Warren is. But I don't think that was the intention of the writers. There are things he does that are questionable. But I think compared to most other characters, he easily falls more in the middle as to being an extreme. AND THAT...makes him more likely to be bad.
Yeah, his comment about sex rubbed me the wrong way. I mean, I get him being an awkward/nervous guy in love. People keep bringing that up. And that's fine. I can agree there is nothing wrong with that. But when you pair off his bizarro comment about a horrible film being hilarious (a film with sexual assault, animal violence and extreme violence)...and follow that up with a line about sensitivity and sex.
As someone that is in film, that whole scene was really on the nose for me. It felt like Madsen, where it was TOO obvious, and clearly just a red herring. BUT...unlike Madsen, the writers really do go out of there way to make Warren not cross that line of being extremes. And the only reason that whole scene really rubbed me the wrong way, is because I've seen that film before. So I wonder if like, the writers intentions were for that dialogue scene to be really obvious and overt, or if it only seemed that way to people that knew the movie.
In my gut, I still feel like they are going out of there way to make Warren seem more ambiguous compared to other characters. And that alone, makes him a little more suspicious?
Like Nathan is obviously bad. He killed Chloe in one timeline. He drugged and it's implied raped Kate (or maybe I read too much into the rape part, but that's what I read into it)....but the character is such an extreme, that I can't imagine he will be the twist, or the main bad guy.
